What is HairDesignerTV?

An online learning and networking site for salons and stylists. World renowned hairstylist Vivienne Mackinder has condensed 30 years of her knowledge and experience into a comprehensive and highly-accessible educational series. We use streaming video, audio, animation, colorful graphics and printable lessons to demonstrate all the latest cutting trends, hair coloring techniques, dress work and more.

Who is HairDesignerTV for?

Individual stylists, schools, students and salons all use HairDesignerTV as the backbone of their training and educational systems. HairDesignerTV.com (HDTV) takes staff training out of the salons and puts it online, relieving owners of this burden entirely, or supplementing their in-house program. Students can get a jump start on a career by learning sound fundamental techniques and sound business practices. Schools use HairDesignerTV to train the teachers on classic to modern advanced techniques. Salons take advantage of our “Elite” program to keep their staff educated, motivated and inspired.

Is HairDesignerTV free?

No. HairDesignerTV is a premium service, providing the best education and training in the hair and beauty industry.

Is there any free content on HairDesignerTV?

Yes. There are free samples of our content, as well as some featured content that is available without a paid subscription.

How do I get access to the member content?

Plans are available in monthly and yearly subscriptions and can be purchased in our store.

What software or hardware do I need?

Our video player is state of the art. It automatically detects your individual internet connection speed and delivers the best matching video quality for your PC, Mac, i-pad, i-phone, tablet or cellular devices.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes. There are payment plans for  courses. HDTV “Classic” is billed on a monthly basis.

What is the “Elite” Program?

The “Elite” program joins the online education with live, hands-on education and coaching.  There are 4 levels of the “Elite”: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.  Each level offers 1-year full access to HDTV, a 16-Week Editorial Styling Course, the Mastermind™ series, and once a month coaching conference with HDTV  Team.  Call for more information on added bonuses per level.

What is The Mastermind™ series?

A way to empower, influence and lead yourself, your clients and those around you.  It is a very interactive environment to support an industry that is lacking in leadership.  Putting brilliant minds together to make a difference.  The Mastermind™ is a series of phone calls accompanied by visual aids and printouts that are recorded and archived for later listening.

    I am trying to get into the ultimate consultation guide through the 5 star layers section and it won’t open for me. I am teaching class on Monday and rolling out Vivienne’s consultation piece for the first time.

    I have the annual membership to HDTV Classic and wanted to sign up for some courses. I wanted to make sure that I can continue with the annual membership while taking courses (that it won’t effect accessibility to HDTV Classic). Thanks.

    I purchased the Razor Cut Series. I have watched the graduated bob cut, and the first video of the 7 principles of razor cutting. Now when I try to view and more, they will not load. have tried logging out, and back in again, but still no videos will load. ??

      Hi Dixie,

      The course is on a drip, so each week new videos will be open to you. The only way to see them all at once is to purchase the all access as a five star member.     I have been trying to subscribe to the HDTV Classic membership, keeps saying “Error #1. User authentication failed.” Am I doing something wrong?

      I am sorry you were having difficulty. We do not offer a monthly classic subscription anymore. We do however, have an all access subscription and you can pay monthly $99 for all access or $799 for a full year. Another option to consider is when you purchase a live workshop you get all access to HDTV for free for a full year. Let me know if I can answer any questions or set you up for a free week trial.     Hello, same as above, any attempts to purchase the monthly subscription package over the last several months end with a “user authorization failed” warning with no way to remedy the situation. Please advise.
