Citizen finds it’s way to us through an exploration of the beatnik culture with Kerouac, Ginsberg and Burroughs. While remaining true to the passions of this movement, the result culminates in a study of asymmetry and textures.
Citizen is by nature bold and free. It is loud in design yet barely audible in tone. Citizen speaks to a culture more focused on change than approval through the discipline of structure and design.
Citizen can be represented with three interpretations – short, medium and long, each created within the guidelines of our Menswork method. Shears, razor and clipper are used to bring shape and texture into the lean and masculine shapes of American Crew’s Citizen collection.
